15 years of electroacoustic music in the Ural.

The festival was spent in the M.P.Moussorgsky Ural state conservatory (the Big Concert hall, Chamber Concert hall).

The main theme of festival - electroacoustic music as sound art in the operated multispatial acoustic environment in its synthesis with possibilities of multimedia. The special attention in festival of 2005 has been given application in electroacoustic music of nonconventional tool means, to creation of the multispatial operated acoustic environment, and also multimedia synthesis of various art means - to a combination of an electronic sound, a visual image and a plasticity.

Ideas of festival: the Studio Action is dated for event of 15-year-old prescription - to opening on November, 15th, 1990 in the Ural conservatory of the Office of electronic music ("electroacoustics and computer facilities Office" originally was called and was division of chair of musical computer science and psychology). This date is a reference point in the history of a birth of the Yekaterinburg ElectroAcoustic Music Studio and a new direction of musical art in the Ural - electroacoustic music. One of ideas of festival is connected with this date. In festival the retrospective show of activity of Studio will be given.

The idea of the program of electronic music of the Moscow composers - members of the Russian Association of electroacoustic music within the limits of festival has arisen in connection with 15-year-old anniversary from the date of formation of the Russian Association of electroacoustic music. Coincidence of 2 anniversaries - dates of creation of the Russian Association of electroacoustic music and date of occurrence of a new musical direction in the Ural is represented deeply symbolical. Anyway, since 1991 activity of the Yekaterinburg ElectroAcoustic Music Studio is closely connected with activity of Association which from the moment of the basis and is to this day authoritative in Russia and abroad the centre of development of electroacoustic music. The studio is a part of the Russian Association, and through it and in the international community - the International Confederation of electroacoustic music. Close contacts to Association allow members of Studio to participate in its many projects. The President of the Russian Association of electroacoustic music Edward Nikolaevich Artemyev participates in the Festival program. It is the first arrival to Yekaterinburg. The Russian Master whose music became classics not only Russian, but also world electronic music. The creative meeting of the well-known composer with the Yekaterinburg musical public and representatives of the Yekaterinburg mass-media is planned.

Idea to present in festival concerts some original musical electronic tools and new technical workings out also partly retrospective as dates of creation of represented tools cover the considerable historical period: from 20th years of the XX-th century (theremin) up to now (remote MIDI-controllers of end ХХ - the beginnings of XXI centuries) . It as the duplicated tools known all over the world, and the author's workings out which are or the pre-production models existing in the single copy, or in general self-made devices. The amazing fact forces to be fixed on idea of demonstration of original tools and devices again and again: the country which has made ingenious break in the field of musical technology in the beginning of the XX-th century (ideas and L.S.Termena's inventions) and having unique is intellectual-scientifically-engineering potential, not only has not entered abreast the advanced manufacturers of electromusical devices, but at all has not created the continuous cycle of manufacture of competitive tools. The history of musical technology both in Russia as a whole, and in Ural, is full of examples of drama destinies of inventors, many of which and did not realise the ideas.

The performances on electromusical instruments are a special direction and one more idea of festival. For the first time in Yekaterinburg the program "Classical theremin" in which executors on electro-musical instruments - "stars"-thereminist Lydia Kavina and Olesya Rostovskaja will take part well-known in Russia and abroad will be presented attention of the musical public.

Ideas of spatial differentiation of sound sources are known from a XVIII-th century (music of Catholic church tradition; masses of Benevoli, Shjuttsa), have passed centuries later and have been apprehended by electronic music as the major postulate. The idea of artificial creation of operated acoustic space has been born in due time in bowels of electronic music (kvadro - and octophony K.Shtokhauzena's experiences). That and another, uniting together, give to the composer working in the field of electroacoustic music, unique possibilities. In festival of 2005 the products representing realisation of spatial ideas in a format 5.1 will be presented.

STUDIOS AND PERSONS

The Russian Association of electroacoustic music (the President – People Artist of the Russian Federation, composer E.N.Artemev) has been formed in 1990 in Moscow at the initiative of composers E.N.Artemeva and A.I.Kiseleva. It included group of the Moscow composers working in the field of electroacoustic music. In due course other Russian studios and the centres began to join Association, and now it incorporates variety of the Russian studios and the centres of electroacoustic music. Regularly carries out actions of the Russian and international value - concerts, festivals.

Edward Artemyev

E.Artemev - the founder of the Russian Association of electroacoustic music (1990) And the recognised leader of Russian electronic music. As one of the first composers in Russia has started to work in a genre of electroacoustic music, having selected its centre of the creative aspirations. In 60th years E.Artemev creates a number of compositions in Experimental studio of electronic music (Moscow, the founder - engineer E.A.Murzin) on synthesizer АНС. From created during this period the greatest popularity was received "Mosaic" (1967) and "by Twelve sights at the sound world" (1969), become by classics of domestic electroacoustic music. E.Artemeva's music constantly sounds at the most prestigious international festivals, representing the Russian experimental electronic music. One of the most considerable products of the end of 80th years - "Three sights at revolution" (1989) has been written to the 200 anniversary of the French revolution for traditional festival of electroacoustic music in Bourges (France). The composition is connected with Burzhem "I would like to return" also ("I would like to return"), written by request of studio GMEB and in the same place realised in 1994. E.Artemev one of the first composers has started to apply means of musical electronics and in cinema music. It is the author of music more than to 200th films. Among them - "Some days from a life of Oblomova", "Relatives", "Sibiriada", "Hunting for foxes", "the love Slave", "Solaris", "Mirror", "Stalker", "the Siberian barber" and many other things.

Anatoly Kiselyov

In 1990 of A.Kiselev together with Edward Artemyev was one of initiators of creation of Association of electroacoustic music of Russia, vice-president it is all these years. A.Kiselev represented AEM Russia on General Assemblies ICEM in Stockholm (1991), Madrid (1992), Oslo (1993) and Geneva (1994) . With 1990 for 1996 it together with Andrey Rodionovym has based and supervised over Laboratory of electronic and computer music of the Union of composers. In 1990 it has organised a regular curriculum of electronic and computer music in Musical school of a name of Gnesinyh. In these establishments many known composers and musicologists were trained by it. Last years Anatoly Kiselyov the special attention in the creativity gives to electroacoustic music. Him often invite to various festivals of modern music where its music (France, the USA, Sweden, Switzerland, Austria, Norway, Finland, Italy, Spain, Belgium are successfully executed, etc.) . To it willingly give for creation of new products known foreign electronic studios. Anatoly Kiselyov is personally familiar with well nowadays well and already left outstanding figures of world electronic music much nowadays. It posesses articles devoted to creativity by V.Usachevskogo, R.Muga, P.Sheffera, K.Klozie, L.Theremin, etc., articles on actual theoretical and current problems of the electronic music, published as in our country, and abroad.

Lydia Kavina is known all over the world as the outstanding virtuoso-executor on theremin. The American magazine "Keyboard" by right considers it "as a star theremin # 1". Being trained in game on thereenin, Lydia Kavina at the same time received also quite academic music education. Its training has come to the end in 1997, after the termination of faculty of a composition of the Moscow state conservatory. Formation of the composer helps it to propagandise the tool to which she has devoted the life. It has spent more than 1000 performances in the different centre founder.
